Library time this week:
This week students who have finished with the first catalogue lesson are being introduced to the Dewey Decimal System with this great Dewey Decimal Rap on YouTube. After all the classes have seen it I will post it on the blog for everyone's enjoyment. Half the grade six class still needs to test their skills and see what they remember from orientation so we will be doing that with the orientation quiz game.
Some fun things that are upcoming:
The library weekly trivia draw will start next week! Because Monday is a holiday, the week's question will be announced on Tuesday morning (and posted on this blog) and students have until Friday at 1:30 to enter and then the winner will be announced at the end of the day on Friday.
October 26 is DEAR! That stands for Drop Everything And Read! On that day, students will need to have some reading material with them at all times during that day and wait for the word to drop everything and read for 20 minutes! The whole school will be participating, everyone reading at once!
