With the end of library circulation in our school only 2 days away (don't forget to bring all those books back by Friday June 5!) I am sure that many students are wondering, where will I get books now??? May I recommend your local public library?
As students have been visiting the library this week I've been encouraging them to head to their local public library for all sorts of summer reading materials, and to join the Summer Reading Club! You can sign up in early June, and you'll get a reading record where you keep track of your reading, and enter contests for great prizes.
As an added bonus, if students join the Summer Reading Club and bring their reading records back to school in September and give them to me in the library, they will be entered into a contest for a great MEI Middle Prize! Also, if students write a book review of a book they read over summer and hand it in to me in the library, they will be entered into another contest for an even bigger and better prize, plus their review will get to be published on this very blog!
